Thomas Jefferson was a very interesting man, well accomplished
and eloquent in his advocacy for liberty
" I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against
every form of tyranny over the mind of man."
Also championed the rights of states.
I can't believe I stood where he lived!
He died July 4th 1826

Well said Mr President!

Oops I forgot pictures on the first floor were not allowed
Bed Thomas Jefferson slept in. Grief stricken after his wife's death Thomas
Jefferson destroyed all pictures and belongings of his wife, no one has any pictures of her.

We took the early evening tour that allowed to go through the entire house

Servants below sent a fresh bottle of wine  up
to the main room when an empty bottle was sent down.
This is just a tid bit of info on the house he built with some pretty ingenious ideas too numerous to mention.  Visiting historical sites allow us to step back into history in a wonderful way that makes us forget momentarily about our immediate existence and egocentric view of the world.

Thinking of you...
